Some general information
The snow is melting and the eager to take a few new steps, growing.
We are on the lookout for shows to play, and perhaps a band to support. Don't hestitate if you wish to contact us
about any of this. I am about finished writing the new material and right now I'm only waiting for the drumtracks
to be recorded, so we finally can start making this CD.
Joachim Strøm Ekelund of Aspera has agreed to do the
drumtracks. This is quite fun for me as I've wanted a hardhitting drummer for the new songs. Adyta will be
going in quite the same direction as before musicwise, but with more folk and a few very nice ballads.
We might be using growls as main vocals in our heavy songs from now on, but we're not quite sure about this yet.
There will be a few guestappearances which I am very honored to have aboard as well. Some have already been revealed
in the releases section.
More info will be added later since I don't have much to say right now. Vote for us at Rockekampen 2010 and
come see our upcoming shows!!

Joakim's studio report for Rose of Melancholy
Okay, so I'll try to write some informative stuff about the whole process.
First of all, I'm sorry this takes so much time,
but all I can say is that I wish this cd to become as good as I possibly can get it in a homestudio.
I have a lot on my mind at the moment, but I've finally got some basstracks down.
The pre-guitartracks are still to be replaced, and I'll do this as soon as I've programmed some usefull drumtracks.
There should be no need to worry, it will all work out one way or another.
These are the final pieces in this mess of a puzzle and having to wait for them is hard even for myself.
Anyway, I did the basstracks at home directly through my mixer, and I will be doing the same with the guitar,
after running it through the amp and so forth. I might have to redo some of the harsh vocals, but on a overall
basis they should be as well as done. I have to work alot on this though, since I've never taken a active part
on the vocal front, ever before.
Cheers and happy easter! Joakim

Melissa's vocal report for Rose of Melancholy
Here I am again, an ocean away from the composer and mastermind of the music I’m working on.
Thank the gods for technology, right? :)
So what has happened so far... Joakim and I have been pen pals,
he sending ideas and inspirations behind each wonderful piece of music and I sending my renditions back.
I’ve sent over the basic pre-pro versions to be sure everything fits well and to make any last minute edits.
This last week, I have been working on polishing each phrase, imagining each vocal line and striving to capture
the true essence of the poetry and music. It’s the part of the process that usually can take the longest because
it is, in my mind, the most important. As I’ve told some of my students before, a singer is someone who sings.
But an artist is one who invests themselves wholly. Always strive for the latter, no matter how difficult it may
be or emotionally, where it might take you.
I think we are now at the place where everything is as it will be though for the three English songs.
What’s nice is that with Wolfgang and I having a home studio so any last minute edits, changes or revisions after
final versions can be done easily, quickly and free! : ) Its also nice since I’m a month away from expecting our
daughter to arrive, I can take my time to record at the best times physically for me. Woot!
So the only song that has been a devil is the one in Norwegian. I would think that being in the icy tundra of Minnesota,
whose predominant cultural heritage is Norwegian (Uff da!!), it would be easier to find someone to help me with the
language. I’ve had a few leads but just need to get over to Sons of Norway and have them teach me how to say things
and not sound like an American tourist. ;) If that doesn’t work... well, guess Joakim has to sing it. :)
So, this weekend I’ll be starting final recording tracks now that we have the sound all set up to go. Will be taking
the next week (hopefully not longer than that!) to get them finished and finally, Joakim can get this album out the door!
Fun times!! Great music and I hope you all get out and buy this album! Joakim’s music sounds so fresh and vibrant, yet
intellectual and profound, I really hope the world can hear it!
Hugs, Melissa!

The Progress So Far
Hi again.
I just tought I might give you some more information. Things were going well until the promising musicians,
with whom I've been rehearsing a couple of times, got too busy. I was told this was due to limited amount
of time, and the need to prioritize other activities. Work, school, distance etc. seemed to complicate
everything. This is actually why I prefer serious submissions; you simply got to have room in your life for this.
Alas, the search for the right musicians goes on, again, and yes - this will take time. Do not expect
anything yet, you will only be dissapointed if you do so. I have actually started mixing and recording a
lot of the basic material for the CD-EP I have had in mind for a very long time. Perfecting the orchestral
arrangements and guitar sound takes time; I thought I might just as well start. Hopefully I will be able
to achieve decent studio quality for the previously mentioned CD-EP.
I am also perfecting the mixed drums on the current tracks. Hopefully I'll be able to replace these drum
tracks with real ones in the future. I am currently working on the inlay cover art for the CD-EP. Thanks
to Bjørn Schistad for allowing me to use one of his wonderful works as background, again. This is the same
guy who took the winter pictures for Mortiferia's CD-EP a year ago. It is really hard to decide who to
give the front cover job to. This is in most cases very expensive, but depends on the artist, how the
work is done, and the schedule. This is in no hurry after all. As you might have seen, there has been
added a concert to the live list. To be honest, I'm not sure if Adyta will be ready for this concert
which appears to be the upcoming month, the 22nd. It is of course possible to do some orchestration
sampling, and allow a drummer and bass player to join for this, but the vocals will be missing. So if
this is to be cancelled, you'll probably notice it somehow, sometime.
Ps. Musicians may apply for all band roles besides guitar at the moment, but I can't assure you that
what you submit for isn't already occupied. Read the news for more information about this.
That's all for now, Joakim

A new epoch begins...
As a blurry idea in the back of my head started clearing up, forming Adyta soon became one of my next
goals. After giving my farewell to my previous band due to what I considered had a lack of participation
from certain members, I started thinking about how to progress. I have of course learned a lot in my two
previous bands, and I've also realized that it takes a bigger sacrifice than given back then to succeed or
getting further at all.
This website has been up for some time now, but it is all on hold exept from myself writing some material
now and then. Thanks to all of those who submitted as vocalists, basists, keyboardists and drummers.
Unfortunately no new members has been added and the search for the right members is still going on. This
will take some time since I want to make sure about peoples capability and seriousity etc. An announcement
will of course be made here on the webpage as soon as musicians join, but until that day, enjoy the current stuff :)
Cheers, Joakim
